A New Chapter, A New Blog
A product manager’s attempt to make sense of people, systems, spaces, and the way we design our lives.
Well, a new chapter of life calls for a new blog!
I’ve always been writing somewhere on the internet. First it was LiveJournal, then Medium, Facebook, and Teletype — and now, apparently, it’s Substack. Each platform has had its moment, and I’m hoping this one will last a little longer.
Since the beginning of 2026, I’ve also been writing on LinkedIn in English. It felt natural to bring my blog into the same language and move it to a platform where there’s an increasingly interesting English-speaking audience.
So, what is this blog about, and why am I writing it?
One reason is simple: I want to keep practicing writing in English. Another is to expand my professional network beyond the Russian-speaking community and broaden my perspective as a product manager by exposing myself to different ideas, experiences, and ways of thinking.
Product management is only part of what I’m interested in. I also think a lot about time management, the design and usability of physical and digital spaces, organizing processes in the broadest sense, as well as psychology, careers, and meaning and purpose.
Economics and politics are another area I want to explore. Since 2022, I’ve taken several semester-long courses on how states work, how we arrived at the ways economies and societies are organized today, and how different systems shape our lives. I’ll probably share some of the essays I’ve written along the way, as well as the conclusions I draw from these studies about how we choose where and how to live.
In a nutshell, this is a product manager trying to understand how people, systems, spaces, and societies work — and what that means for how we design our lives.
